- Preheat the oven to 350 levels F (175 levels C). Put the butter inside a 9×13 inch baking dish, and put within the oven to melt as the oven is preheating. Remove when butter has melted, about a few minutes.
- Inside a medium bowl, stir together 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of sugar, and baking powder. Add the milk until well blended, then pour the batter in to the pan within the butter. Don’t stir.
- Wash it out the bowl in the batter, and dry. Place cherries in to the bowl, and toss using the remaining 3/4 cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon of flour. Distribute the cherry mixture evenly within the batter. Don’t stir.
- Bake for 50 to an hour within the preheated oven, until golden brown. A toothpick placed in to the cobber may come out clean.
